How is RLS diagnosed?
There is no test for restless legs syndrome but is rather diagnosed by symptoms and physical examination. If you experience all the above symptoms and the occurrence of these symptoms is not due to another medical condition, you likely have RLS. The doctor may also check to see if your iron level is normal in the blood. Low iron levels in the blood can cause a decreased production of dopamine resulting in RLS.
